Obituary

Josephine Eleanor Palombo-Oliver, aged 78, peacefully passed away on October 3, 2026, at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown. Born on March 8, 1948, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, she was the beloved daughter of James and Delma Clark. Josephine graduated from Remsen Central School in 1968 and pursued her passion for nursing, earning her RN from Maria College in 1998. Her caring nature shone through her work at St. Claire's, Ellis Hospital, and most recently, St. Mary's Healthcare.

On December 17, 1983, she married David Oliver in Rotterdam, NY. Josephine found joy in her family, especially cherishing moments with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, camping, and participating in community activities at the VFW in Fonda.

She was a devoted member of the Johnstown Church of the Nazarene. Josephine is predeceased by her daughter, Ida Calhoun. She is survived by her husband, David Oliver; children, Julie Warn and her husband, Jon-Paul; Pamela Oliver and David Lee and his wife, Dr. Geniene Oliver; sister, Joyce Chesley; and many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on October 10, 2026, at the Johnstown Church of the Nazarene. In honor of Josephine, donations to a local animal shelter are appreciated.
